ABOUT THANKFUL SHEEP

The Morning It All Started

For over 20 years, I owned and operated gift shops where I curated everything from jewelry to home goods for customers who appreciated beautiful, well-made things. I learned what quality looks like, what customers respond to, and—most importantly—that cheap products ultimately disappoint, no matter how cute they are.

One morning, while drinking coffee and having a quiet moment, I was looking for an inspirational jewelry line for my shops. Something scripturally accurate, beautifully designed, and sophisticated enough that my customers would actually want to wear it.

I couldn't find it anywhere.

So I designed it myself. The concept was simple: a sheep, a scripture, and a tag with meaning. I called it Thankful Sheep.

My customers immediately embraced it. I couldn't keep it stocked.

That was 2013.

"Wait... It's Not a Thing?"

For years, I sold Thankful Sheep pieces alongside other brands in my shops. It was just something I made.

Then my husband (a former basketball coach who's not easily impressed) went to market with me for the first time. While we were buying inventory, he said, "Oh, you need to order more of that Thankful Sheep line."

I looked at him. "It's not a thing."

"What?"

"It's not a company. It's just me. I made it."

He was shocked.

By dinner that evening, he said: "I think it IS a thing."

The Branding Company That Changed Everything

We found a branding company in LA and flew out to meet with them. After our initial meeting, they asked to come to our hotel that evening for a few more hours. They put me through exercises, showed me words, gauged my reactions, asked probing questions about my vision.

The next day, they met with us again.

"You don't have a jewelry line," they said. "You have a lifestyle brand."

They recommended we file for trademarks in at least five categories to start.

So we did: jewelry, drinkware, handbags, clothing, and stationery.

Then COVID Hit

Three months after we got our first round of trademark approvals, the world shut down. Production stopped. Manufacturing became impossible.

We had to extend all five trademarks. Multiple times. For months, it felt like everything was on hold.

But my husband—who has always been my biggest champion—wouldn't let the vision die.

In the middle of COVID, he surprised me with a trip to a sheep farm.

He wanted me to hold actual sheep. To remember why this mattered. To keep the dream alive.

(See photo above. Yes, those are real sheep. Yes, I'm wearing plaid. Yes, that smile is 100% genuine.)

What We're Building Now

Thankful Sheep is no longer just jewelry. It's becoming what that LA branding company saw all along: a complete lifestyle brand.

Handmade Pottery - Featuring our signature HIS icon, crafted by American artisans
Designer Jewelry - Available in both plated and solid gold (14K/18K)
Handbags - In development (we're sourcing quality, not rushing)
Clothing - Luxury designer feel, starting with essentials
Stationery & Journals - Launching with a companion workbook to my upcoming book
Specialty Coffee - Through our sister brand, Mercy in the Morning®

Everything carries our signature HIS icon—hearts integrated into the letter S. It's our house mark, which means it appears across everything we create.

The HIS Icon

Our signature design element started with the jewelry. I wanted something that was:

  • Beautiful enough to wear every day
  • Meaningful without being obvious
  • Sophisticated, not cutesy

The HIS icon is openwork filigree in the shape of an S with hearts woven throughout. It works in round or oval format, at any scale, and translates beautifully across different materials—from gold jewelry to ceramic pottery to leather goods.

It's now a filed trademark as our house mark, which means you'll see it on everything Thankful Sheep makes.

The meaning? Every design is His. Every detail matters. We're all His sheep.

Why "Thankful Sheep"?

The name comes from Isaiah 53:6:
"All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all."

We were lost sheep. Now we're thankful sheep.

It's that simple. And that profound.

Trust God and Be Real

In addition to Thankful Sheep, I also host Trust God and Be Real—a YouTube channel and podcast where I interview people about their authentic stories with God. Not the polished, perfect testimonies, but the real, messy, beautiful journeys of faith.

It's the same philosophy that drives Thankful Sheep: authenticity over perfection.

I'm also releasing my first book, "When Silence Breaks," in March/April 2025, with a companion journal to follow. (Yes, it will feature the HIS icon, of course.)

What Makes Us Different

After 20+ years in retail, I know what separates products that last from products that disappoint. I know what customers really want (even when they can't articulate it). I know the difference between trendy and timeless.

When you buy from Thankful Sheep, you're getting:

  • Products I've personally vetted and approved
  • Items made by artisans who care about their craft
  • Designs that work in real life, not just in photos
  • Quality that lasts years, not months

We're not trying to be the biggest Christian lifestyle brand. We're trying to be the best.

One carefully curated product at a time.

The Next Chapter

We're launching our handmade pottery collection soon. We're developing our first handbags. We're preparing for the book launch. We're building the clothing line. We're creating the journals.

There's so much coming.

But we're not rushing. We're building this right—with quality materials, authentic design, and meaningful partnerships.

Because if 20 years in retail taught me anything, it's this:
People remember how a product makes them feel long after they forget what they paid for it.

We're creating products worth remembering.

Welcome to Thankful Sheep. We're so glad you're here.
